Delayed a couple of years thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, a pre-graduation routine returned for Sequim High School’s seniors.
After their morning walk-through for their graduation ceremony on June 10, Sequim High’s approximate 175 graduates were greeted by fellow students and staff from Sequim’s schools with high fives, fist bumps, hugs, cheers and custom signs with each senior’s name.
Classes from Greywolf Elementary were bussed over to join students from Helen Haller Elementary, Sequim Middle School and the high school to form two lines around the track.
Teacher Sean O’Mera greeted seniors at the end with hand sanitizer.
Organizers at previous graduation day walks said the event shows younger children what they can accomplish through their years in school.
Sequim School District’s last day for classes is June 17.
