Fete vets at the fair
Monday, Sept. 15, is Military Appreciation Day at the Puyallup Fair. All active, reserve and retired military and National Guard and their dependents, plus disabled veterans receive free gate admission with a valid military ID at any fair gate.
Take advantage of this great offer and enjoy the Washington State Fair!
Calling all quilts
Last year on Veterans Day the Mount Angeles Detachment of the Marine Corps League was asked to distribute lap quilts to veterans in a local care facility. This was a wonderful experience and they would like to expand and repeat this again on Veterans Day 2014.
They are in need of lap quilts to distribute. If you are a quilter, or know a quilter, consider making a quilt to be given.
Call or e-mail Commandant Sid Gerling at 417-3710 or sidjean6@gmail.com if you can help.
Form help
If you are a veteran and need help with VA claim forms or information about benefits, call American Legion Service Officer Carl Bradshaw at 775-1477 to get an appointment. His office is in the American Legion Post at 107 E. Prairie St., Sequim. He is available to help all veterans.
Don’t worry and wonder; call Carl and ask so you can get the straight answer.
