Forks FC scored two goals in the final 20 minutes to erase a 2-1 Windermere Real Estate lead and capture the 2022 Peninsula Soccer League championship on a wet and cold morning at Wally Sigmar Field on the Peninsula College campus on Nov. 6.
Luis Perez scored all three goals for the Forks coed club. Ben Schneider had a goal and the other was scored an own goal for Windermere.
Strait Slice took third place in a forfeit win over Salazar Painting.
In the match for fifth and sixth place, Andrew Cooper, Travis Priest and Zach Salter led High Energy Metals to a 3-1 win over Bandidos FC. Felix Morales tallied the lone goal for the Bandidos.
And in the match for seventh and eighth, Pantry & Latch closed the door on Pura Vida 2-0, getting goals from Chris Lopes and C.J. Daniels.
Proceeds from the Peninsula Soccer League entry fees support Pirate soccer.
Area players will lace up again for a spring league in April.
