Truck sinks near Sequim Bay

Vehicle ruined but no one hurt

At 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, a Ford Ranger and a boat trailer submerged at Marlyn Nelson Park at the east end of Port Williams Road.
Witnesses said the truck and trailer went too far back and quickly sank into the water.
The truck’s owner Jeffrey Reynolds, of Port Angeles, said it was a little bit of everything going wrong.
Renee Jones and other witnesses tried pulling the truck out with a rope and chain but were unable to because the rope broke.
Joe Cynor, of Sequim, used his truck and winch and pulled Reynolds’ vehicle out.
Reynolds said his boat is fine, but the truck will need to be rebuilt.
