“Lavender Fields Forever” is the official name for Sequim Lavender Farm Faire’s promotional art by Patricia Taynton.
Pat Wilson of Sequim won the contest to name the art and was awarded two free tickets to the Lavender Farm Tour and a lavender gift basket.
Taynton deliberately did not name the painting, so representatives created a contest to name it. The painting is featured on event posters, T-shirts, advertising and other promotional materials and as a raffle item at the fair, which runs July 15-17, the traditional lavender weekend, at Carrie Blake Park.
Sequim Lavender Farmers Association produces the fair with its Lavender Farm Tour running 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday-Sunday.
Lavender Farm Tour tickets provide unlimited admission, parking at all of the farms and shuttle bus service from Lavender in the Park. Advance tickets are $10 and are available at the farms and online at www.brownpapertickets.com.
Tickets for active-duty military personnel and their dependents are $10 throughout the event. Tickets during the weekend are $15 per person. There is no admission charge for children age 12 and under.
Lavender in the Park runs 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday, with free admission. Concerts are 7-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
