The district is hosting a series of strategic planning meetings, held 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursdays through early June at the Guy Cole Events Center, 202 N. Blake Ave. The series, which started Jan. 12, has four more meetings: April 13 — Vision to Mission: Competencies and S.W.O.T. (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats) Analysis; May 11 — Strategic Plan Goals Development and Portrait of a Graduate Logo Creation; May 25 — Strategic Plan Goals Development and Portrait of a Graduate Logo Creation continued, and June 8 — Strategic Plan Objectives Development and Portrait of a Graduate Logo Creation. GREYWOLF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Kindergarteners at Greywolf had the privilege of have a special guest on March 2. Tommy Hall came in to share with students a little bit about local Native American traditions and culture. He showed the youths drums, a paddle, a picture of some Salish art, taught the kids how to say a few Native words, and even sang a song for them.
“We loved having the chance for him to come in and share with us while we are learning about Native Americans,” Greywolf representatives said.
HELEN HALLER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Helen Haller Elementary hosted a Law Enforcement Appreciation Lunch on March 27 with representatives from Clallam County Sheriff’s Office, Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe’s Public Safety and Natural Resources Enforcement Department, Sequim Police Department, and Washington State Patrol. Students wrote letters of appreciation and asked questions about the officers’ jobs. Helen Haller Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) organized the event.

SEQUIM MIDDLE SCHOOL

SEQUIM HIGH SCHOOL
SHS Cheer tryouts are set for 3:30-5:30 p.m. Monday, April 10, in the auxiliary gym. On Friday, April 14, tryouts start promptly at 3:30 p.m. Packets are available in the main office hallway.
Open gym activities, featuring multiple sports, are set for 6-8:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, an 8-11 p.m. on Fridays. Contact the SHS athletics office for more information.
