Sequim Pride Weekend slated for June 15-17

Sequim Pride Weekend, a celebration of the LGBTQIA community, is set for June 15-17, and will feature a variety of events including a happy hour, a ceremony, a Pride day at the Sequim Farmers & Artisans Market, and a march.

The weekend kicks off with a happy hour starting at 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, at Salty Girls Seafood, 210 W. Washington St., featuring food, drinks and networking.

At 6p.m. on Friday, June 16, a Pride Ceremony is scheduled at the Sequim Civic Center plaza, 152 W. Cedar St. The ceremony will feature speakers from the community, including Clallam County commissioner Mark Ozias and Sequim City Council member Vicki Lowe. Following the ceremony, there will be a Pride March on Washington Street, start and ending at the plaza.

From 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, the Sequim Farmers & Artisans Market (at the Sequim Civic Center plaza, 152 W. Cedar St.) hosts Pride Market Day, featuring a poetry reading by Clallam County Poet Laureate Jaiden Dokken and a Pride flag giveaway.

Sequim Pride is a volunteer group of community members “working to promote the visibility and acceptance of the LGBTQIA community in Sequim and the surrounding area.” The events are aimed to welcome everyone in the community to join together to celebrate diversity in the community.
