City of Sequim sets services survey

The City of Sequim is interested in hearing from its residents regarding city services in the community.

Community surveys have been mailed to about 4,5000 City of Sequim households and should arrive in mailboxes in early December, staff said. The surveys are designed to gather information on satisfaction levels with city services and priorities.

The survey takes about 15-20 minutes, city representatives said, and can be returned by mail or completed online at sequimsurvey.org.

Non-city residents can take the survey, too, city staff said.

“The City of Sequim is wholly committed to ‘continuing process improvement’ and, therefore realizes the importance of listening to our residents,” Sequim city manager Matt Huish said in a press release.

”Only by asking you to ‘rate and value’ the city’s municipal services can we organize our budget and priorities around Action Plans driven by your input.

“We are hoping for a high survey completion rate that will represent our entire community — so we strongly encourage everyone to participate in this opportunity.”

The City of Sequim has partnered with ETC Institute to administer the survey. They last worked with ETC in 2011, and city staff said they hope to do a survey every two to three years to track progress.

Cost for the survey is about $19,000, city staff said, which includes survey development, administration, data analysis and reporting, webinar presentation of the results, and the development of an interactive data dashboard to explore data.
