Olympic Nature Experience recently released its programming schedules for summer 2024 and the 2024-25 school year, which includes The Way of the Woods — a new program for students ages 10-12.
The Way of the Woods is an entirely outdoor course that school representatives say encourages imaginative thinking, exploring, problem-solving and risk-taking, where students are encouraged to learn about themselves.
The program looks to provide “meaningful and authentic opportunities for pre-teens to experience compassion, curiosity, empathy and interdependence,” Olympic Nature Experience representatives said.
The program will be offered in a four-day camp format during the summer and a weekly enrichment program during the school year.
Program description and dates available at olympicnatureexperience.org/way-of-the-woods.
Olympic Nature Experience also offers summer camps for Early Learning (ages 3-6), Nature Skills (7-10) and a family play group called Adventure Club. Full schedule for summer and fall available at olympicnatureexperience.org/programs.
Registration for all summer programs, including The Way of the Woods, opens at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 8. Fall program sign-ups begin Monday, April 29. Registration information can be found at olympicnatureexperience.org/registration.
