Overnight travelers on the State Route 104 Hood Canal Bridge won’t have to worry about any construction for the rest of May.
Closures originally scheduled for Wednesday, May 22, Thursday, May 23 and Tuesday, May 28 through Friday, May 31 have all been cancelled.
Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation completed work on the shock absorbers on the south side of the bridge ahead of schedule, state officials said this week. This means the rest of the overnight closures for this week are no longer needed.
The contractor will continue construction on the bridge next week, but closures are not necessary for this work, they said.
Overnight closures will resume Monday, June 3. The bridge will close at 10 p.m. every night that week through (and including) Saturday, June 8.
