Patricia “Pat” Lou Starr (Horner)
March 12, 1950 – June 1, 2024
Pat suddenly passed away while on her favorite hike in Dosewallips Park on Saturday, June 1, 2024. She was hiking with her only nephew, Kelsey Horner who carried her down the mountain on her last day, and now her beautiful soul is free.
As a renowned watercolor artist, Pat’s life was a vibrant canvas.
The paintings of nature glowed with her inner life and connections to her spirit world. She helped build an award-winning advertising agency in Bellevue, WA, a timber frame home in the woods in Duvall, and an abandoned 100-year old farmhouse into a mountain retreat in Eastern WA. Pat’s joy was being with her poodle Circe, training her, and living in Sequim with the surrounding trails of the Olympic Peninsula at her doorstep. She was most of all a beloved, empathetic, and insightful mental health counselor and a healer for hundreds of her clients for over 30 years.
She leaves behind a great circle of friends from the art world, the dog world, grateful clients, lifelong friends from college, cousins in Minnesota, extended Subert family, her brother Gary, nephew Kelsey and niece Lauren.
Lastly, she leaves behind her poodle Circe, and her partner of 40 years, Michael Subert who will cherish all the memories of the most beautiful and caring woman who has ever been put on this earth.
Pat will forever be in all of our hearts.
