Ellefson races to fourth at Seafair

Sequim High 2024 graduate Colby Ellefson swam, biked and ran to a fourth place finish at the 2024 Seafair Triathlon at Seward Park in Seattle on July 21.

Ellefson, 18, completed the legs — 0.5-mile swim, 14.8-mile bike ride and three-mile run — in 63 minutes, 51 seconds — tops in the men’s 29 and younger division, and less than two minutes back of champion Nolan Weinstein.

The event included sprint, super sprint, relay and kids triathlons and a duathlon, with about 1,500 athletes competing. See sea-tri.com.

Ellefson was a three-time swimming state meet qualifier who holds several SHS records, and was a state cross country qualifier as a senior.
