Vintage vehicles, classic covers returning for Sherwood show

Car enthusiasts and rock-n-roll fans are once again in for a treat at the annual “Classic Hits & Classic Cars” event, set this year for 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at Sherwood Assisted Living, 550 West Hendrickson Road.

This family-friendly event features some of the top local classic and vintage cars and trucks from members of the Sequim Car Club, paired with live music from Black Diamond Junction.

The car show runs the length of the event (10 a.m.-1 p.m.) and Black Diamond Junction, voted the best band on the Olympic Peninsula for nine consecutive years, cranks up their classic tuns from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Additional attractions include: a $5 lunch featuring barbecued burgers and hot dogs; free root beer floats, and a raffle.

“We are always thrilled to bring the community together for an entertaining day of music and classic cars,” said Janaye Birkland, Sherwood Assisted Living marketing director. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for people of all ages to create lasting memories and experience our vibrant community spirit here at Sherwood.”

Besides the fee for lunch, the event is free and open to the public. For more information about the event or Sherwood Assisted Living’s care services, call 360-683-3348.
