Peninsula physicians award 2025 grants for students, programs

The Clallam County Physicians Community Benefit Fund announces awards for academic scholarships in medically-related fields for 2024-2025, and for medically-related community grants to be awarded in 2025.

The benefit fund was formed in 1995 when Regence BlueShield joined with Clallam County Physicians Service, Inc., a company formed by local physicians to provide health care coverage to Clallam County citizens.

The 2024-2025 academic scholarship awards, totaling $17,000, went to: Emily Bundy, $4,000;Amya Hampton, $3,000; Bailee Jones, $3,000; Reece Moody, $2,000; Rikki Weaver, $2,000, and Sean Weber

The 2025 grant awards, totaling, $17,535, include:

• Clallam Resilience Project, $1,235, with funds to be used to establish a monthly newsletter for the Clallam Resilience Project’s Handle with Care program.

• First Step Family Support Center, $1,000, with funds to be used to purchase cribs for their Safe Beds for Healthy Babies program.

• Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County, $15,300, with funds to be used to upgrade computers.
