Sequim got a jump start on the scares last weekend and there’s plenty of fun on Thursday, Oct. 31 for Halloween with events for all ages. Here’s where to go:
Oct. 31
• Avamere adds trunk-or-treat
Avamere Olympic Rehabilitation of Sequim, 1000 S. Fifth Ave., hosts a Trunk-or-Treat event from 1-3 p.m. on Halloween in the facility’s parking lot with patients and staff giving out candy and offering games.
• Elks elated for drive thru trick-or-treaters
The Sequim Elks Lodge, 143 Port Williams Road, offers a drive-thru “trick-or-treat” station from 3-5 pm. Thursday, Oct. 31 Elks members will be handing out bags of candy to all the little ones.
• Downtown’s trick-or-treat tradition
Dozens of businesses offer candy from 3-5 p.m. Oct. 31 along Washington Street from Creamery Square to Fifth Avenue with Sequim-Dungeness Chamber of Commerce ambassadors and volunteers serving as crossing guards.
• Thrive prepares Trunk-or-Treat
Thrive Church, 640 N. Sequim Ave., hosts its Trunk-or-Treat at its parking lot with a free hot dog dinner and treats from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31.
• Foursquare church hosts Harvest Fest
Sequim Valley Foursquare, 9090 Old Olympic Hwy., holds its Harvest Festival from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Oct. 31. with an inflatable slide, Nerf tag, a cake walk, food, face painting, and a trunk-or-treat. Organizers ask for child-friendly costumes only.
• Fifth Avenue brings out bat cave
The Fifth Avenue, 500 West Hendrickson Road, hosts a Trick-or-Treat event from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Halloween with a haunted bat cave, treats, and a chance to win a raffle basket.
• Faith Lutheran presents harvest fest
Faith Lutheran Church, 354 W. Cedar St., hosts its harvest festival from 5-6:30 p.m. on Halloween, Oct. 31. The family-friendly event offers candy, activities, games, and more with trick-or-treaters welcome.
• Trunk-or-treat at Gateway Church
Gateway Church of Sequim, 609 W. Washington St., holds a trunk-or-treat from 5-7:30 p.m. on Halloween night. All ages welcome.
• King’s Way brings on the ‘Bash’
King’s Way Sequim, 1023 Kitchen-Dick Road, brings back its “Bash” event from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, with outdoor family fun games, snacks, and candy. Kid-friendly costumes only.
• Sherwood offers trick-or-treating
Sherwood Assisted Living, 550 W. Hendrickson Road, invites trick-or-treaters from 6-7 p.m. Oct. 31 to haunt their halls for free candy from residents.
Organizers say the annual event has become a heartwarming tradition with residents eagerly anticipating the chance to see the children’s creative costumes, and for many the event brings back fond memories of their own family traditions.
• Eastern Hills open to trunk-or-treaters
Eastern Hills Community Church, 91 Savannah Lane, hosts its annual Trunk-or-Treat from 6-8 p.m. on, Oct. 31, outside the church with hay rides, candy, hot dogs, and more.

• Ghostlight opens “Sweeney Todd”
Ghostlight Productions brings “Sweeney Todd – The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” to the Sequim High School Auditorium, 633 N. Sequim Ave., on Halloween night at 7 p.m. Shows run at 7 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Nov. 1-2; 7 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 7-9, with matinees at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, and Saturday, Nov. 9.
