Paradise Restaurant to close for retirement
Owners of Paradise Restaurant, 703 N. Sequim Ave., plan to retire and close the business after 35-years in operation. Its last day will be Saturday, Nov. 23. It’s open 4-9 p.m. Tuesdays-Fridays, (closed Sundays and Mondays).
Owners James and Shirley Lam said they thank the Sequim community for all the support to make their business successful.

Vendors sought for Sunshine Festival
The City of Sequim is now accepting applications from craft vendors to participate in the Sunshine Market at the 2025 Sequim Sunshine Festival. The Market will be held 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, March 8, inside the Guy Cole Event Center at Carrie Blake Community Park, 202 North Blake Ave.
Booth space will be available for a flat fee of $75 per space. Applications are due by Friday, Dec. 20, and must be submitted online at form.jotform.com/243084409645056. More details about the event can be found on the application.
All applications will be juried by the Sequim Sunshine Festival Committee. Notification of acceptance of applications will be sent by mid-January 2025. If the application is accepted, payment for booth space is required in advance by Feb. 14.

City conducting business survey
The City of Sequim has mailed business surveys to businesses in city limits that should arrive this week.
The surveys are designed to gather information regarding satisfaction levels with city services relative to the business environment and future priorities, city staff said.
Each survey will take about 10 minutes and can be returned by mail or completed online at https://sequimsurvey.org.
“Our goal is to identify areas for improvement, allowing the city leadership to implement effective solutions,” said city manager Matthew Huish.
“We are dedicated to ensuring more customers find their way to our local businesses while positioning Sequim as a welcoming and efficient place where future businesses can also thrive.
“We encourage all to complete the short survey.”
The city has partnered with ETC Institute to administrate the survey, which has conducted more than 25,000 surveys in 700-plus communities in 49 states.

Sequim radio station gets new call letters
Sequim’s radio station KZQM, located at 104.9 FM, has changed its call letters to KZEG.
The station will continue to refer to itself as Z104.9, as it has since its 2018 launch. The “classic hits” format will continue to remain the same as well.
“For some time, there has been confusion by having similar call letters as Sequim’s radio station KSQM 91.5,” KZQM owner Brown Maloney said.
“It was therefore my decision, that changing the call letters would be beneficial for both stations.”
In addition to changing call letters, Z104.9 (now KZEG) is launching a brand new morning show. The “Anna and Raven Show” will be heard from 5-10 a.m., Monday through Saturday.
Anna refers to herself as a frenzied mother of two girls while Raven is a married 40-something with way too many pets for one person. The show guides listeners through the world of parenting, relationship and pop culture.
Throughout this morning show are the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s music Z104.9 is known for.
The changes became effective Monday, Nov. 11.
