What’s Happening at the Market: Vendors host first event in winter series Saturday

Grab your coat, scarf, and favorite reusable bag and join us for our Winter Markets happening on November 23 and December 21 from 10-2 p.m. at the Sequim Civic Center Plaza, 152 W. Cedar St., in downtown Sequim.

From locally-grown produce, to handmade treats, to one-of-a-kind artisan-crafted gifts, you can get all of your holiday shopping done in one place while supporting local businesses.

Both of our Winter Markets will also feature live music from local musicians. On Nov. 23, Cort Armstrong and The Backwoods Hucksters will bring their unique “mountain blues” sound – soulful singing, time polished vocal harmonies, and intricate instrumental interplay – to our stage. On Dec. 21, Ranger & The Re-Arrangers will play swing standards, traditional European melodies, and unique originals.

New this year, we’ll have materials available for a small fee so market-goers can build their own gift baskets. And for those in a rush, we’ll also have pre-made baskets that are filled with a variety of goods from our vendors.

Kids will also have fun activities to do at both markets. On Nov. 23, they can participate in a Pacific Northwest animal scavenger hunt. On Dec. 21, they can make their own ornaments using recycled materials and get their picture taken with jolly Father Winter.

It’s hard to beat that cozy feeling you get walking around our Winter Markets with a warm drink in hand. But what makes these markets even more special is knowing that the delicious food or hand-crafted goods you buy are supporting someone in the community that’s doing something they truly love.
