For her efforts organizing the second-annual Sequim Public Safety Fair on Oct. 5, Clallam County Fire District 3 commissioners and staff recognized Donna Stoffel with a certificate of appreciation. Fire Chief Justin Grider said the event was a “great success.”

“One-thousand people attended, so it’s clear the public was interested,” he said.

The fair hosted dozens of booths in and outside the Guy Cole Event Center in Carrie Blake Community Park with 50 Clallam and Jefferson county agencies and groups sharing information on emergency preparedness, safety, ways to get involved in the community, and much more.

The event is slated for Oct. 4, 2025 in the park again. It’s a collaboration between the City of Sequim, Clallam County Fire District 3 (FD3) and members of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program.

Stoffel is captain of Carlsborg CERT No. 3.
