The Home Depot will hold its annual Veterans Appreciation Day from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 13, in the parking lot. Food and drinks will be provided by The Home Depot.

Flag Day is June 14. This commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777, by resolution of the Second Continental Congress.
The Sequim Valley Lions Club, supported by 7 Cedars Resort, is hosting a spaghetti dinner from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at the Sequim VFW, 169 E. Washington St. Veterans eat free while guests and children older than 6 are $5.
The Korean War Veterans will be distributing the valentines submitted to Drennan & Ford Funeral Home. They take them to the various military rest homes, hospitals, bases and USO prior to Feb. 14. About 2,500 valentines are generated by the elementary schools in Clallam County.
The Four Chaplains observance will be led by Chaplain Dale Butler of the Sequim VFW at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, at the VFW Post, 169 W. Washington St.
At this time of year we think of gifts, so we wanted to tell you how much we appreciate your gifts to us and let you know that you are making a difference in many people’s lives.
The ladies of all the DAR Chapters in the state will be holding a ceremony in Olympia on Nov. 11 to remember those veterans who died in Vietnam.
Many thanks to all who volunteered at the Stand Down on Oct. 1 at the Clallam County fairgrounds.
Our retirees need us to assist them as they face physical and mental challenges. Most service clubs took a break over the summer. September is the start of a new “year” for them. Contact them and find out how you can help.
Most of the service clubs take a break from regular meetings during the summer. They hold picnics and events to get people interested in joining their organization. This way they have fresh faces, new ideas and are set to go in September!
The Korean War Veterans deliver hotdogs and buns every month to the SeaTac USO for the troops and their families to enjoy while they are waiting in the airport.
The American Legion will be conducting a Flag Day Ceremony at the post at 107 E. Prairie St. at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 14. There will be a flag disposal of unserviceable flags. All are welcome.
