Carol Brokschmidt, MD, recently joined Olympic Medical Physicians Women’s Clinic as its new obstetrics and gynecology specialist.
Brokschmidt has a special interest in providing preventive holistic care. “I went into obstetrics and gynecology to provide reasonable, non-aggressive preventive care for women,” she said. “I enjoy the challenge of designing a more holistic approach to provide care that is tailored to a woman’s individual needs.”
Her professional interests also include minimally invasive surgery and non-invasive ultrasound to complement examinations.
She enjoys the opportunities provided by the OB/gyn specialty.
“I am privileged to be able to interact with so many wonderful and diverse individuals, and to have a chance to not only treat problems, but to be proactive and help prevent problems from occurring in the first place,” Brokschmidt said. “Part of this is a real interest in educating my patients about their own health issues.”
Brokschmidt joins a team of practicing certified nurse midwives and advanced registered nurse practitioners at the clinic.
Brokschmidt completed medical school, internship and residency at the University of Chicago.
She also is a musician interested in both symphonic and jazz music, and is an avid outdoors enthusiast.
