Sequim’s That Takes the Cake won first place among 95 entries in the wedding cakes category in KING-5’s Best of Washington contest. The shop is owned by Sue and Paul Boucher and is at 171 W. Washington St. One voter wrote, “I love this business. Delicious treats and wonderful people to do a wedding with.” Sue Boucher said, “This was really big because it was all of western Washington. We’re very thankful for all our customers who voted and it’s super, super cool that we got so much support from the city.”

The Bouchers are going to have community celebration from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, and public is welcome to attend. Of the award, Paul Boucher said, “It’s huge, it’s unbelievable, it’s awesome.”
