In a first-of-its-kind effort to support the Peninsula Trails Coalition and the coalition’s work to complete the Olympic Discovery Trail, all seven North Peninsula bike shops are lending their labor for two weekends.

Bike shops will loan their tune-up labor charges during regular hours on March 28-29, and again on April 11-12.

The shops — subject to some shop-specific details — offer their normal tune-up services under the special fundraising arrangement, then donate the value of their labor to the coalition that in turn will use the funds to support its wide range of volunteer trail maintenance activities, work projects and trail expansion advocacy.

For 25 years the Peninsula Trails Coalition has spearheaded the vision of completing the 126-mile long Olympic Discovery Trail.

Details regarding the donated labor charges vary slightly among the shops — especially with regard to the form of payment they can accept for these tune-ups. (In some cases, the shop requires that customers specifically request inclusion in the tune-up event, so be sure to check the details for the shop you intend to use.)
