New business manager at Serenity House
Serenity House of Clallam County has hired Scott Price as the agency’s business manager.
“We are pleased to add Scott as a member of our staff,” said Kathy Wahto, executive director. “He brings a wealth of experience and will help our agency develop and meet its goals.”
“I am excited about the opportunity to work in the nonprofit sector,” said Price. “After many years in the for-profit world, it has been a refreshing change to be part of Serenity House and to help them fulfill their mission.” A lifelong resident of Port Angeles, Price previously has been involved in wholesale goods and communications. He and his wife, Shawn, have two grown children.
Serenity House is a United Way agency.
Learn about unclaimed property rules
The Department of Revenue is offering free workshops for businesses, local governments and other organizations that by law must report unclaimed property to the state. Businesses and organizations can register for workshops scheduled for this year at http://ucp.dor.wa.gov/.

Canine classes offered
Legacy Canine Behavior and Training’s spring class schedule includes the following:
• “Middle Management,” which starts today, Wednesday, Jan. 26, addresses the behaviors that appear during “puppy puberty.”
• Dates and times for “Puppy’s Head Start” and “Pet Dog Manners” will be set to accommodate participants’ schedules. Completion of “Pet Dog Manners” allows use of the Legacy Dog Park.
• “Stepping Out” is to refine basic skills in new and different environments and distractions. It begins Sunday, Feb. 20.

Quarry sets winter hours
New winter hours for The Quarry, 833 E. Front St., Port Angeles, are 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-
3 p.m. Saturday. The Quarry carries natural and cultured stone, pavers, wall block and supplies. Call 417-8397.
Doodlebugs expands
In November 2010, Doodlebugs increased its retail space by 50 percent, expanding into the space formerly occupied by Jim Carl Insurance. This week the company added a new awning that runs the length of 136-138 W. Washington Ave. to reflect the change. The store has expanded its inventory, too, adding party supplies and more to its original scrapbooking and “paper crafting” business. Jim Carl Insurance is now at 369 W. Washington St.
ONP announces logo use guidelines
Olympic National Park is making an inexpensive licensing process available to businesses, schools, youth groups and nonprofits for using the official Elwha River Restoration logo and tagline, “Natural Wonders Never Cease,” to develop promotional products.
The two-page license agreement and a style guide can be viewed and downloaded on the park’s website www.nps.gov/olym/naturescience/elwha-tagline-and-logo.htm.
Peterson joins Windermere
Terry Peterson has joined Windermere Sunland.
Peterson participated in the development of Monterra, a retirement community in Agnew, and Woodland Heights and has served as the designated broker for several firms in Sequim and Port Angeles.
Seminar at Henery’s
