Castell named to state advisory committee
Mike Kreidler, State of Washington Insurance Commissioner, recently appointed Phil Castell, owner of Castell Insurance in Sequim, to the Life and Disability Agent/Broker Advisory Committee. Castell attended his first meeting Nov. 16. Subjects discussed included “the role that agents and brokers would have under the Affordable Care Act,” Castell said.

New Fresh Mix Grill offers breakfast and lunch
Fresh Mix Grill & Mart has opened at 300 E. Washington St., Sequim, at the Shell Station near Co-op Farm & Garden. The grill, open Tuesday-Saturday from 7 a.m.-
3 p.m., offers a variety of freshly made breakfast and lunch options, including hot and cold sandwiches (with Pane d’Amore breads), salads, homemade soup and chili daily. All meats and cheeses are sliced in-house. Traditional mart options include coffee, snacks, drinks and bagged ice.
IHOP holiday hours
IHOP, 1360 W. Washington St., Sequim, will be open from 6 a.m.-10 p.m. Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, and New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31. On Christmas Day the restaurant will be open from 6 a.m.-3 p.m.
Edward Jones hosts food bank drive
The Edward Jones office of financial advisor Kristopher Henrikson, 755-C W. Washington St., Sequim, hosts a food drive at the office through Dec. 30.
All food collected goes to the Sequim Food Bank. Donations of canned and prepackaged food can be dropped off at the office during regular business hours. Call 582-1547.
New baker at Bell Street
Nick Hoffman, an expert in breads, savories and pastries, has joined Bell Street Bakery, 173 W. Bell St., Sequim. A former chief baker for McMurdo Station, Antarctica, Hoffman is developing new products for Bell Street. The bakery’s made-to-order sandwich bar opens in January.
Everwarm is dealer for Regency, Hampton
Everwarm Hearth & Home has been selected as the new Regency and Hampton dealer for the North Olympic Peninsula. These premier lines, along with Everwarm’s existing lineup of Lopi, Avalon, Fireplacextrordinair, Hearthstone and Valor hearth products, are in the newly remodeled showroom at 257151 Highway 101, between Port Angeles and Sequim. ‘Roadshow’ seeks gold, collectibles
The Ohio Valley Refinery & Roadshow is in Port Angeles seeking to buy gold, silver, antiques and collectibles from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. through Friday, Dec. 23, at the Days Inn, 1510 E. Front St.
There are no appointments needed for the general public to sell items. Local area businesses that deal with precious metals are encouraged to call ahead and make an appointment with a representative.
