Wind Rose release benefits MAC
Wind Rose Cellars’ release of its 2010 Hunter’s Red, dedicated to the 1977 Manis Mastodon find, also is a fundraiser for the Museum & Arts Center in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley, with 10 percent of sales donated to the MAC. Wind Rose Cellars, 155 W. Cedar St., Sequim, is open 1-7 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 1-4 p.m. Sunday.
October events spotlight genetically modified organisms
Nash’s Farm Store, 4681 Sequim-Dungeness Way, celebrates the third annual non-GMO month with free public events designed to clarify the issue of genetically modified organisms in the food supply.
Dr. Muriel Nesbitt, program coordinator for the WSU Extension Clallam County Master Gardeners program, presents an introduction to GMOs at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23.
On Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 4:30 p.m., Kia Armstrong, Chris Tipton and other staff from Nash’s Organic Produce present a panel discussion about the effects of GMO on organic agriculture.
