Fresh Mix Grill celebrates first year

Tea sampling

Lodge hosts open house

The Lodge and Cottages at Sherwood Village host a holiday open house from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at 660 Evergreen Farm Way (off Fifth Avenue and Old Olympic Highway). The event includes Christmas music, decorated trees, desserts and apartment/cottage tours. Bring a donation for the Sequim Food Bank to enter to win a holiday gift basket. Call 681-3100.

DeKorte named assistant manager

Nash’s Farm Store, 4681 Sequim-Dungeness Way in Dungeness, has named Becky DeKorte of Sequim as assistant manager. DeKorte has 25 years experience in grocery retail, with King Supers, Safeway and C&K Markets.

The DeKortes moved to Sequim earlier this year.

Sample organic coffees

Nash’s Farm Store, 4681 Sequim-Dungeness Way, offers free samples of organic-direct trade coffees from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14. The coffees are roasted locally by Rainshadow Coffee Roasting Company of Sequim.

Gray attends conference of top advisors

Edward Jones financial advisor Cheryl Gray, with Edward Jones’ Sequim branch, was invited to attend Barron’s Winner’s Circle Top Women Advisors Summit held in Palm Beach, Fla., Nov. 28-30. The conference included workshops led by the women advisors named in Barron’s June 2 issue as the top practitioners in their field.

Stylist adds services

Black Bear holds ‘Wish’ fundraiser

The Black Bear Diner, 1471 E. Washington St., Sequim, sponsors a month of fundraising events for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Until Dec. 31, Black Bear Diner donates $1 each time a customer purchases a pie, cake or cobbler. Guests also can purchase a $1 or $5 wish star for needs in the local community. The restaurant also will host a pancake breakfast and a dinner party.
