P.A. Chamber hosts variety of special guests
The Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce hosts guests during its Monday lunches.
The chamber meets at the Red Lion Hotel, 221 N. Lincoln St., at noon. Cost for lunch is $13; the public is invited to attend.
On Dec. 3, local lodging executives discuss the state of the lodging industry in the Port Angeles area and national trends, with Tammy Oxentenko from Western Inns, Joseph Mollerus from Red Lion and Paula Beck from Aramark.
On Dec. 10, a panel discusses employment issues in the area, with Richard Newman from Olympic Medical Center, Cathy Price from Nippon and Jon Toliver from Morningside.

Chef talks organic food
Port Angeles chef Annie McHale gives a free cooking demonstration of a winter-warming sweet potato and sausage bisque, with Good Morning Biscuits.
The event is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Nash’s Farm Store, 4681 Sequim-Dungeness Way in Dungeness.

Through her business, Roots, McHale offers retreats and consultations to educate consumers about planning, shopping for and preparing organic whole food meals.
Estes builders train for heat efficiency
Mike Lyckman and Larry Loucks of Estes Builders recently received training from Air Flo Heating in HVAC advances, including a variable speed air handler, heat pump efficiency in extreme cold weather and the cost and health benefits of electronic air filters. Lyckman and Loucks plan to use the training to offer more efficient homes with lower heating bills to Estes customers.

Humphrey joins Olympic Music
Voice teacher Kyra Humphrey has joined the faculty of Olympic Music School, 331 W. Bell St., Sequim.
Humphrey has a master’s degree in music from University of Washington and has taught voice for more than 30 years.
She stresses healthy vocal technique in styles ranging from classical to music theater and folk music.
