Sequim Dungeness Hospital Guild’s thrift shop, 204 W. Bell St., will be open 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19.

HOWL launches food event
The nonprofit HOWL (Helping Others with Life) hosts a MOON Party to launch its project to supply food for needy people on weekends. The event is from noon-5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at the group’s main office and store, 230 W. Eighth St., Port Angeles.

Aston completes climbing training
Matthew Aston, landscape gardener at Clark Horticultural organic landscape management, recently received a certificate in tree climbing, fall protection and work positioning after completing courses with Arboriculture Canada in Vancouver, B.C. The courses teach safety requirements of working in trees as well as climbing techniques and work positioning.

New owners for Jardin du Soleil
Paul and Jordan Schiefen are the new owners of Jardin du Soleil lavender farm, 3932 Sequim-Dungeness Way,
Sequim.

Bert joins Evergreen Family Village
Karen Bert is the new family support specialist for Evergreen Family Village, 2201 W. 18th St., Port Angeles.
The village is a Serenity House of Clallam County transitional housing program designed to help homeless families with children achieve self-sufficiency.
“I missed the interaction of parents and kids,” said Bert. “Evergreen Family Village suits me well.”
