Grants awarded
The Olympic Workforce Development Council and the State of Washington Employment SecurityDepartment/WorkSource Clallam have announced that eight small businesses have been chosen to receive up to $10,000 apiece through the Washington State Department of Commerce Community Reinvestment Project.
The awardees were chosen from a competitive pool of applicants based on their innovation, impact, and commitment to enhancing local economic empowerment and sustainability.
One of the local awardees is the Research and Development Services of America (RDSA) of Neah Bay. Tom Hahn, President of RDSA, said the nonprofit organization will use the grant funds to purchase more totes and crates.
“This will allow us to store more frozen hatchery fish for bait and help more fishermen increase their catch both in Neah Bay and LaPush,” he said.
