Donations of new unopened toiletry items such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes, disposable diapers, baby wipes, toilet paper and paper towels, as well as pet food and supplies, will be accepted during business hours at JACE’s offices in Port Angeles, 1234 E. Black Ball Ferry Line has selected Philips Publishing Group as the publisher of record for the annual COHO Magazine, featuring a new four-color format.
Philips is known for Clipper Vacations and Catalina Express magazines, as well as other publications. Black Ball and Clipper Navigation will offer a combination package for those wishing to advertise in both COHO and Clipper Vacations magazines.

Sequim Health and Rehabilitation rated deficiency free
Sequim Health and Rehabilitation, 650 W. Hemlock St., recently has completed its standard survey for compliance with state and federal regulations and was found to be deficiency free. Nursing homes are inspected annually and a deficiency-free survey is earned by a very small percentage of health centers. Salal permits to go on sale
Permit sales for salal begin in September. Permits are issued from the Forks, Quinault and Quilcene offices during business hours on the following dates: today, Sept. 7, Nov. 2, Jan. 4 and Feb. 29. Cost is $150 for two months.

Lowering the age of ‘seniors’
The Golden Crafts Shop, a nonprofit organization selling the handicrafts of local seniors, has adopted a lower age for contributors to its consignment shop.
