Open house set at Cedar Ridge

Cedar Ridge Properties announces the completion of six homes in its Cedar Ridge Village and Cedar Ridge Estates subdivision.

The Cedar Ridge subdivision located within the Sequim city limits, was purchased out of foreclosure in December 2013 by Sequim resident Brown M. Maloney. The community consists of 180 home sites. The December 2013 purchase consisted of 159 of those lots. There will be a Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce open house at Cedar Ridge Estates on Friday, Oct. 17, featuring two model styles.

The open house will be between 4-6 p.m., with a ribbon cutting at 5 p.m. The six homes have been constructed by Port Angeles based Anderson Homes and are being represented by Windermere Real Estate in Sequim.

 

Free financial planning seminar set

Port Angeles attorney Steve Moriarty discusses estate planning strategies for the needs of family members, charitable giving goals and minimizing taxes at a free financial seminar set for 4-5:30 p.m. and 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, at the Dungeness River Audubon Center, 2151 W. Hendrickson Road, Sequim.

Nash’s hosts GMO talk

Pamela Ziemann, a raw food chef, vegan/vegetarian advocate and communications skills trainer, talks about Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Nash’s Farm Store, 4681 Sequim-Dungeness Way in Dungeness.

The talk is free and open to the public. The presentation is part of the fifth annual NON-GMO Month, sponsored by the NON-GMO Verified Project, a nonprofit organization. Call 681-6274 for more information.

 

Framers attend seminar

Karon’s Frame Center staff recently attended an educational seminar in Portland, Ore. Business owners René and Larry Bauer, along with employees Joanne Berry and Nicole Harrison participated in classes such as Presenting and Working with Textiles, Color and Design, Period Design, and Preservation of Art on paper.

The seminar was offered through Framer’s Inventory, a major supplier in the framing industry, and was attended by over 200 picture framers from Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
