Local ice cream maker speaks at Nash’s
Viking Feast Ice Cream owner and creator Thormod Skald will kick off Local Food Month at Nash’s Farm Store, 4681 Sequim-Dungeness Way in Dungeness, at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, with a talk about making his ice cream with local ingredients. T
he talk is free and open to the public. Sample Viking Feast Ice Cream and other local products from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Hall adds another certification
Kenny Hall, fitness director at Anytime Fitness, 10131 Old Olympic Highway, in Sequim, is now a certified strength and conditioning specialist. Motel open house set
The Days Inn and Suites, 1095 E. Washington St., Sequim, will have an open house beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, to introduce new owners Sun and Amy Choi. The public is invited for food and beverages.
Holistic group disbands
The building at 127 W. Bell St., which houses the Pathways Holistic Healthcare Center, has been sold. Victoria Jazwiq, certified hypnotherapist, will continue to practice at this address until further notice. Contact her at 477-0747.

PFOA reps attend workshop
Danette Grady, Nancy Campbell and Nancy Dolansky represented Peninsula Friends of Animals at a one-day workshop in Seattle in July, presented by Petfinder, the online database of adoptable pets.
The workshop was sponsored by Petco and hosted by the Seattle Animal Shelter.
Topics included how to use the high traffic of Petco stores to increase adoptions for their organization, marketing pets online, tips and tricks to increase adoptions, using the Internet to increase donor and volunteer engagement, shelter medicine and training shelter dogs. Speakers came from across the country to present the program.
