Bistro featured in magazine
Alder Wood Bistro, 139 W. Alder St., Sequim, recently was featured in Sunset Magazine (March 2015) “A Road Trip For Food Lovers” as well as Sunset’s “Eating Up the West Coast” cookbook. Included recipes are Chef Gabriel’s Pickled Beet Salad, Roasted Veggie Pizza and Smoked Salmon Pasta Carbonara.
Brigit Binns, author, gives tips and twists to the bistro’s recipes so they can be made in the home kitchen, no wood-fired oven necessary. Alder Wood Bistro is open for lunch from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. and dinner 4:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday.
Employee earns certification

Benefit car wash planned
Join the staff at Windermere Sequim-East, 842 E. Washington St., Sequim, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 18, for a car wash and bake sale to benefit Dylan Eekhoff, who is fighting cancer at age 20. Proceeds go directly to the family to offset the cost of treatment, travel, etc. Cost is by donation.

Meditation class begins

Former McComb owners honored for work
Neil Burkhardt and Jane Stewart are the recipients of the Washington State Nursery and Landscape Association’s 2016 Harold Young Lifetime Achievement Award.
The award was presented at the Northwest Green Industry Conference in January in Tacoma. The conference is the annual meeting of WSNLA and WALP. The award is the association’s top recognition.
McAleer earns sales production award
Michael McAleer, a managing broker with RE/MAX Fifth Avenue, has qualified for the RE/MAX Chairman’s Club Award in 2014, which honors the most successful RE/MAX agents in the world. In 2014, less than 1.5 percent of the RE/MAX network world wide achieved the prestigious award. McAleer has been working in the real estate industry for more than 12 years and has extensive experience in the residential and land markets. McAleer also recently was entered into the RE/MAX Hall of Fame.
