Great Strait Sale date set

Memory care facility opens
Highland Court, Port Angeles’ new memory care community, soon will be offering private tours and accepting resident reservations in anticipation of its grand opening on Thursday, Aug. 18, at 1704 Melody Lane. WeDoFudge recognized
The “Shining Star” member of the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce in July was awarded to WeDo Fudge, which was recognized for carrying out its mission statement to the fullest, which includes three words: quality, generosity and encouragement.
WeDo Fudge also donates all the proceeds of its peanut butter chocolate fudge to a local nonprofit organization. This year, KSQM was selected as the recipient. It receives a check for all the proceeds gathered from each month’s sales. WeDo Fudge supports the Sequim community by collaborating with other businesses and organizations.
Get cardio with country
Pauline Geraci, owner of Fit4Life Studio, 1245 W. Washington St., Sequim, recently completed the first Beachbody Country Heat Live class in Washington. Fit4Life Studio will be the first on the peninsula to offer this cardio dance class using line dancing moves set to country music. Store celebrating 110th
Angeles Millwork & Lumber Co. of Port Angeles, will be celebrating its 110th anniversary with a barbecue celebration from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, at Angeles Millwork & Lumber Co., 1601 S. C St. in Port Angeles. The event is open to the public and will feature pulled pork sandwiches, barbecued corn, slaw and refreshments. Product vendors will be displaying the latest innovations in building materials, tools and products.
Drawings will be done every 15 minutes giving out over $800 in gift cards from Port Angeles businesses.

Dahlia garden now open
Jan’s Country Garden, 344 O’Brian Road, Port Angeles, will be open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, beginning Thursday, Aug. 11, for those interested in planting or picking dahlias or picking organically grown vegetables.
Vegetables are available in a refrigerator at the garden, operating on an honor system. Dahlia bouquets also are available at the roadside stand throughout the week.
