WeDo Fudge kicks off annual peanut butter drive

WeDo Fudge is bringing back the business’ annual Peanut Butter Drive that benefits the Sequim Food Bank. Community members are invited to contribute to this charitable endeavor by bringing a jar of peanut butter to WeDo Fudge, 11 Valley Center Place in Carlsborg, between noon-5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday throughout August.

WeDo Fudge is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Friday Aug. 4 that celebrates the company’s milestone 10-year anniversary and its new partnership with Cascade Caramel.

WeDo Fudge and neighbors Clallam County Public Utility District No. 1 have combined efforts to donate more than 750 pounds of peanut butter to the Sequim Food Bank. The goal for 2023, WeDo Fudge owner Christina Norman, is to raise 300 pounds.

Visitor’s bureau seeks tourism info in survey

The Olympic Peninsula Visitor Bureau, in collaboration with MMGY NextFactor and its partners, is developing a five-year Tourism Master Plan. Peninsula residents and business owners are invited to participate in a survey to offer their perspectives; see surveymonkey.com/r/OPResidentSurvey.

The tourism plan, bureau representatives said, will consider how the tourism economy could grow on the Olympic Peninsula in a way that “ensures tourism remains a vital economic driver while also enhancing our residents’ quality of life.”

Said Marsha Massey, executive director for the Olympic Peninsula Visitor Bureau, “In creating this plan, it is critical for all voices to be heard — especially the voices of our residents. To that point, we are inviting those who reside on the peninsula to participate in a short survey and to provide valuable input.”

Sequim company gets award

Each year, the Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW) recognizes the state’s most outstanding remodeling projects at its Excellence in Remodeling Awards, showcasing quality craftsmanship in a variety of categories and price ranges.

Sequim’s Titan Builders, LLC — a member of the North Peninsula Building Association —won top honors in the BIAW’s awards in the Exterior Under $40,000 division.

As noted in the BIAW’s web page announcing the winners, a customer came to Titan Builders dissatisfied with an awkward design of their living room windows. The 18-inch gap between the upper and lower windows obstructed their territorial views and natural light.

“Titan Builders ordered larger windows and reduced the gap between the upper and lower windows with impressive results,” the website said.

In the BIAW award selection process, industry experts review and score each individual project based on aesthetics, special or unique design solutions, quality craftsmanship, appropriate building materials, budgetary considerations and the challenges the project’s design requirements face.
