New gym opens downtown

Grace Lambert and Kevin Pedrey have opened a new health and wellness business, Northwest Fitness & Wellness Center, at 244 W. Washington St.

The business offers classes, workshops, talks, seminars, continuing education courses and private sessions.

Staff include: Lambert, who offers posture exercise therapy sessions and Buteyko breathing instruction; Pedrey, who offers active isolated stretching, massage therapy and conscious connected breathwork sessions, and Abby Carl, who offers trauma-informed movement therapy sessions and nutritional coaching.

The center will have an open house from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, providing fresh local foods and beverages, and a gift drawing for all who attend, fill out and submit a card with their name and contact information.

Annual Co-op meeting set

Members of The Co-op Farm and Garden in Sequim are invited to the 89th-annual Meeting of The Co-op Farm and Garden, set for 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at the Co-Op, 216 E. Washington St.

This year the membership will be electing two board of trustee positions. There will be reports from the accounting firm Leffel, Otis and Warwick and from The Co-op Management team.

The meeting is an opportunity to meet board members and management staff, and to have one’s voice heard, organizers note. Attendees will have a chance to win Co-op gift cards and refreshments will be served.

MV Coho ferry down for annual maintenance

The MV Coho ferry will be out of service through Feb. 7 for its annual maintenance, so travel from Port Angeles to Victoria, B.C., will not be available during that time.

From Feb. 8-15, there will be two sailings daily from Port Angeles, 8:20 a.m. and 2 pm, increasing to four daily sailings through the summer months.
