Sound hires new vice president

Sound Community Bank announces Laurie Szczepczynski has joined the bank as a vice president and Port Angeles branch manager.

Szczepczynski has a 32-year tenure in the banking industry, starting her banking career as a teller, and subsequently serving in many roles in branch banking including personal banker, teller supervisor, branch manager and business development officer. A long-time resident of Port Angeles, Szczepczynski was raised in a retail environment in downtown Port Angeles where her family owned a small business.

Szczepczynski attended Port Angeles High School, Peninsula College and is a graduate of the Washington Banker’s Association Executive Development Program.


First Federal to host business seminar

First Federal is hosting its second of four quarterly seminars from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, titled “Hiring and Recruiting.”

Learn tips, tricks and pointers for hiring your first employee and the next 100 after that in the 45-minute session with some time for Q&A.

The seminar is in the Downtown Business Solutions Center, 141 W. First St., Port Angeles. Seating is limited.

Chiropractor attends seminar

Dr. George Lawrence of Pro Active Chiropractic Clinic in Port Angeles recently attended “Identifying the Most Common Neurodegenerative Diseases and Clinical Applications” in San Diego, Calif.

The two-day seminar is part of a two-year series of seminars for health care practitioners who want to better assist patients with complex neurological issues.

Democrats host CRTC head on June 8

Robert Larsen, the chief executive officer of the new Composite Recycling Technology Center will speak to the Clallam County Democrats on at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, at the Clallam County Democratic Headquarters, 124-A W. First St., Port Angeles. The CRTC is an independent nonprofit corporation that was initiated by the Port of Port Angeles.

arsen will discuss the history of the CRTC, current partnerships, its future and the anticipated benefits for the environment, local economy and workforce training. This program is free and members of the public are encouraged to attend.


Nucci joins Evergreen

Evergreen Home Loans announces that Gerad Nucci has joined the company as a loan officer, reporting to Michele Adkisson, branch manager in the Sequim branch.

Nucci has over 12 years of experience in the financial services industry including roles as a commercial loan officer, residential loan officer and financial advisor. “I’m thrilled to join the Evergreen family of associates. The company vision and range of products will enable me to provide excellent service to my customers,” Nucci said.
