Book store to close
Hart’s Fine Books, 161 W. Washington St., Sequim, will host pianist Tom Darter during the First Friday Art Walk from 5-8 p.m. April 1. This will be the last event for the bookstore as owners Mike and Roz Reichner have decided to retire to focus on their Purple Haze Lavender Farm. From now until April 30, merchandise is 50 percent off. Store hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday-Saturday.

Coon wins international award
Bill’s Plumbing & Sanikan congratulates James Coon for being awarded the Portable Sanitation Association International’s Service Technician of the Year.
The award ceremony was held at the annual convention in Charlotte, N.C., March 9-12. The PSAI chooses one winner and one runner-up from nominees submitted nationally and internationally. Coon has worked for Bill’s Plumbing & Sanikan for eight years and lives in Port Angeles.

Bell St. Bakery opens with new owner
The Bell Street Bakery, 173 W. Bell St., Sequim, will reopen soon under the ownership of baker Russ Lewis. The bakery will host a meet-and-greet from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, March 26, and the public is invited.
Lewis said the bakery’s specialties include European crusty breads and pastries, including raspberry streusel and maple pecan sticky buns. The baked goods are made from scratch with organic ingredients, Lewis said.
