Green Business celebration set in Port Hadlock

The Green Equity Accelerator (GEA) partners are hosting a Celebration of Green Business, a pitch event and business showcase to celebrate the graduation of our first cohort of 10 local social entrepreneurs, from 5:30-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, at the Old Alcohol Plant, 310 Hadlock Bay Road, Port Hadlock.

The event is free and open to all who register. To register, go to tinyurl.com/SEQgreen.

Social entrepreneurs are business owners who use their businesses to generate revenue by solving social or environmental problems and improving their communities and the environment. The first cohort of GEA social entrepreneurs completed a social enterprise development program and “are now ready to advance their businesses and help lead the development of a new local economy that is equitable, sustainable and resilient,” program representatives said.

“We are excited for participants to explore the creative energy of the entrepreneurial mindset and develop leadership potential as they work together to start social enterprises that turn waste to profit, reduce food miles and carbon footprints, develop renewable clean energy, and other innovations,” said Cindy Brooks, the director of EDC Team Jefferson.
