Chamber hosts ribbon cutting, salon offers new services and more business news in Sequim

Clear Water Bidets, 151 Ruth’s Place, Ste. 4, Carlsborg, will have a Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting and open house reception at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 5, with a Cinco de Mayo/Mexican theme. Handicap accessible parking is available and children are welcome.

Salon offers new services

Glamorous Salon, 375 W. Bell St., Sequim, announces that it now offers pedicures and shellac manicures. The salon is open from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Call 681-5215 for an appointment.

Probiotics subject of talk at Nash’s

Olympia-based Oly-Cultures is the creation of cook and instructor Julie Martin. She will present a class on fermented foods and demonstrate how to make your own using starter kits at Nash’s Farm Store, 4681 Sequim-Dungeness Way in Dungeness, at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 14.

It is estimated that 70 percent of the body’s immune system takes place in the gut and Martin believes that keeping a healthy digestive system is crucial for overall health.

New office for chiropractor

Sequim Chiropractic & Wellness moved from 415 N. Sequim Ave. to 512 E. Washington St., Suite 2, Sequim. The new office opened May 2 and will offer a more private treatment area, digital x-ray services, wheel chair access and more.

‘Field Blend’ wine debuts

Wind Rose Cellars is having a special release of its 2013 “Field Blend” red wine from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, May 11. Food will be provided.

A portion of the proceeds for Field Blend will be donated to the North Olympic Land Trust of Clallam County. Live music is planned from 6-8 p.m. by Sarah Shea & Ginger Jazz who will be performing jazz standards.

Lawrence attends seminar

Dr. George Lawrence of Pro Active Chiropractic Clinic, 934 E. Caroline St., Port Angeles, recently attended “The Initial Clinical Survey and How to Identify the Lesion before the Examination” in San Diego.

The two-day seminar is part of a two-year series of seminars for health care practitioners who want to better assist patients with complex neurological issues.

The course objective was to optimize clinical skills when conducting the initial patient exam.
