Castell Insurance, 426 E. Washington St., held its sixth annual shred event on Aug. 26 to its most success ever, raising $5,000 and bringing in thousands of supplies for the Boys &Girls Club’s “Back to School” event.

Insurance Agent James Castell said the event shows how generous the community is in “digging deep to show their appreciation” including a few donors who gave at least $100.

Fellow Insurance Agent John Coulson said at least 400 vehicles stopped in at the three-hour event.

Because of the event’s popularity, company owner Phil Castell said they added two trucks on site to handle the volume.
