Free renewable energy workshop on tap

The Clallam Conservation District is hosting a free workshop for farms and small business owners to help them apply for incentives to bring solar electric, solar thermal and energy efficiency improvements to their farm or business.

The workshop is set for 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, at the Clallam County PUD building, 104 Hooker Road, Carlsborg.

Presenters include a representative from United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development program speaking about the USDA Rural Energy for America Program Grant, one that helps with costs associated with installing renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.

A representative from Clallam County Public Utility District will speak on their incentive programs, and local dairy farmer Ryan McCarthy will speak about a REAP grant Dungeness Valley Creamery received to install solar panels on their barn.
