Kevin Pedrey has opened two new businesses in the past six months. Or more accurately, two new locations of the same business: Northwest Massage and Holistic Healing Center.
Pedrey opened his first office in Port Angeles in September 2012.
In January, he opened his Sequim location within the Sequim Gym complex at 145 E. Washington St.
Pedrey says it’s going great. In fact he’s already hired another massage therapist to help meet the demand.
“We just got into it, but we have a tremendous following already,” he said.
Pedrey said his creative approach to massage therapy underlies the appeal. That includes trusting in the efficacy of what is known as “alternative medicine.”
“We help clients find the best health care options outside of traditional western medicine,” he said. “We also work with other health care providers in the community to help promote holistic natural healing.”
Pedrey provides several massage therapy treatment techniques, including trigger-point therapy, myofascial release, deep tissue and Swedish massage. He added that “cupping therapy” provides remarkable results on chronic back pain, as well as knee and hip pain. “It pulls toxins from muscles,” he explained.
In addition to the standard aches and pains, Pedrey’s clients include workers who have suffered on-the-job injuries and those who have been hurt in auto accidents.
He said he’s just getting started. “We’ll be adding additional modalities through further training. We’ll also be partnering with other health care professionals to offer clients the best way to heal.”
In addition to these services, Pedrey plans to hold ongoing health care demonstrations and instructional classes.
