Shane and Patricia Mitts, lifelong Clallam County residents, recently opened their own professional fishing guide business.
“It’s Fish On” provides new and experienced anglers with the opportunity to try their hand in the waters of the Olympic Peninsula, which is famous for some of the finest salmon and steelhead fishing in the world.
Shane Mitts specializes in guiding only the most productive rivers on the peninsula, including the Sol Duc, Hoh, Bogachiel, Quileute and Clearwater rivers. He knows what he’s doing: He’s been navigating these rivers for more than 15 years.
Mitts is following his dream of providing an exceptional fishing experience at reasonable prices.
It’s Fish On started booking clients at the start of the 2011 fishing season. “The most productive fishing months for salmon and steelhead fishing on the peninsula are from October through March,” Mitts said.
He added that “The fishing has been phenomenal over the last few weeks and soon our rivers will be flooded with winter steelhead.” Mitts said he’s in the business of teaching his clients, who range from novice to expert, how to catch trophy fish.
“Fishing is my passion and this passion is only fueled by every customer that experiences the excitement of catching that perfect fish.”
It’s Fish On is offering a 10-percent holiday discount for any fishing trip booked now through Dec. 31. In addition to this holiday discount, the company also offers a referral reward bonus of $25 for both the referer and the referred to encourage new business.
Mitts said the winter fishing schedule is filling up fast, so drop a line soon to itsfishon@gmail.com or call 360-797-4134 to reserve an all-day fishing experience on a two-passenger, 16-foot heated drift boat with lunch and fishing gear provided.
Nature float trips also are available to experience the beauty of the Pacific Northwest river systems.
