Attendees of a donation day at Via Vita on July 8 raised nearly $600 and the company matched the effort as a fundraiser for Healthy Lifestyles Programs at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula.
Via Vita offered 10 classes taught by seven teachers. They had 44 student visits that day, with 12 participating more than once. Via Vita also had raffle prizes for participants and raised $594 from donations; staff rounded to $600 before matching from their business, Via Vita Chiropractic and Via Vita Wellness. The wellness center has been in Sequim for about three-and-a-half years.
The funds received from Via Vita will support the Clubs’ healthy lifestyle programs such as judo, running and gardening clubs.
Earlier this year, with support from the Schmadeke family, the Sequim club received yoga mats. Paired with the Via Vita support, the club is seeking a volunteer to lead the youth through a weekly fitness session. Those interested in helping broaden the Boys & Girls Club program are asked to contact the club at tjackson@bgc-op.org or 360-683-8095.
