Nash’s Organic Produce welcomes Ellen Barbour and Mary Wong as co-managers of Nash’s Farm Store. Outgoing manager Cheryl Sarno is moving with her family to the Southwest.
With Nash’s Farm Store for six years, Barbour assisted Sarno with staffing, hiring, and creating training and human resource materials for the store. An avid wild-crafter of edible and medicinal plants, Barbour enjoys gardening using permaculture and vermiculture methods.
New to the peninsula, Wong worked in the natural foods/health industry at manufacturing, wholesale and retail levels and ran an organic foods catering company in Fargo, N.D.
Wong is investigating the details of infrastructure renovations and county permitting processes that will shape the site of the new farm store, slated to open in the fall with organic groceries, a children’s zone, a bulk co-op buying club, an upgraded lending library and a community center.
Located at 1873 E. Anderson Road, Sequim, Nash’s Farm Store is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday.
