Sequim community garden gets donation

The Community Organic Garden of Sequim at the Fir Street garden behind St. Luke’s Episcopal Church recently took delivery of donated bags of soil and soil amendments from The Co-op Farm and Garden, 216 E. Washington St., in Sequim.

The Community Organic Garden of Sequim at the Fir Street garden behind St. Luke’s Episcopal Church recently took delivery of donated bags of soil and soil amendments from The Co-op Farm and Garden, 216 E. Washington St., in Sequim.

The soil and amendments will be used by COGS gardeners to improve the quality of the soil and the productivity of their plots.

Pam Larsen, one of the founders of the community garden, was on hand to take delivery. “The Co-op really came through for us,” Larsen said.

“Paul Creasey, lawn and garden department manager, was instrumental in garnering this donation from Kellogg Garden Products. Kellogg is the parent company of Gardner & Bloome, which makes donations as part of their on-going mission to help communities help themselves.”
