The Sequim Farmers & Artisans Market’s board of directors has appointed June Claypool as the organization’s new Executive Director, the organization announced last week.

With her extensive background in community engagement, marketing, fundraising, strategy and program development, the board feels Claypool is “poised to lead the market into a new era of growth and community involvement,” board members said in a press release.

Claypool brings more than two decades of experience in the non-profit sector and higher education to her market leadership role. Recently she served as the managing director for Field Arts and Events Hall and held the position of Vice President of Strategy at Peninsula College.

“June brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to strengthen the market’s vendor community and customer experience. We feel very fortunate to have June as Executive Director,” board president Silas Crews said. “We feel very fortunate to have June as Executive Director.”

Claypool currently works part-time for Clallam PUD and said she is enthusiastic about the opportunity to work closely with the market’s board, staff, vendors and patrons to advance the organization’s mission to respond to community needs.

“The Sequim Farmers and Artisans Market is a vibrant destination at the heart of community life in Sequim,” Claypool said.

She said she sees Sequim Farmers & Artisans Market as the ideal platform for launching new ventures, a valuable hub for locally sourced food, and a lively gathering space for building a strong and connected community.
