C. Albert Phillips, M.D., closed his psychiatric medical practice Sept. 30.
He is retiring after practicing for 36 years in Sequim.

Phillips graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1960. He trained in clinical and forensic psychiatry at the University of Colorado, where he also served as an expert witness in psychiatry for the Superior Courts of Colorado.
Phillips served at the United States Public Health Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, where he developed and directed a treatment program for 350 hospitalized veterans of the Vietnam War.
In 1968, Phillips returned to Bellevue as the clinical director of the psychiatric unit at Overlake Memorial Hospital.
Prior to coming to Sequim in 1982, Phillips had a private practice in Bellevue.
