For the second time, Sequim’s Black Bear Diner, 1471 E. Washington St., was awarded Franchise of the Year at the annual owners’ conference held earlier this year in Nashville, Tennessee.

“Last year was a challenging time for the restaurant industry as a whole, but Sequim’s sales bucked the trend,” said Anita Adams, CEO of the Black Bear Diner franchise.

Sequim Black Bear Diner opened in 2012, and is one of 158 locations in 13 states.

Sequim restaurant owner Bret Wirta accepted the award thanking his management team and staff.

“Everybody contributed to winning this award, but I especially want to thank our customers for their loyalty,” he said.

“These are challenging economic times. We promise to always bring you the best value for your dining dollars on the Olympic Peninsula.”
